Position Description
The Acute Care program is seeking to fill a full-time, permanent Social Worker 2 position in the Rainbow Service. Reporting to the Manager of the Rainbow Service, the incumbent will provide direct clinical care for members of the LGBTQ2S communities who have substance use concerns and concurrent disorders. Accountabilities will include providing outpatient group-based treatment, bio/psycho/social treatment needs assessments, discharge planning; and, limited case management and individual therapy, within a trauma-informed, harm-reduction supportive and LGBTQ2S framework. You will also support LGBTQ2S clients who are engaged in other programs and in inpatient units throughout CAMH, including youth. Electronic record keeping is required. You may also be required to participate in program design, internal and external educational sessions, research related activities and relevant committees. You will be required to work with clients from diverse populations and perspectives. Candidates must be capable of providing supervision of Masters of Social Work students, collaborating with faculties of social work on special projects related to the development of the social work field, contributing to the development of best practices unique to the social work field and also teaching to other professionals. This position will support work in other services within the Acute Care Program in the role of Social Worker as necessary. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. Evening group work is a requirement of this role. This position is located at 60 White Squirrel Way.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Master’s of Social Work degree combined with a preferred 3 years of post-graduate work experience and be registered and a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. You must be eligible for an adjunct faculty appointment with the faculties of social work that have affiliation agreements with CAMH. Experience working with LGBTQ2S community is required. Rainbow Service is dedicated to ensuring our team members reflect the diversity of our clients. As such, the successful candidate will bring their own lived experience of identifying as a member of the LGBTQ2S community.
You will have a current understanding of the research related to the prevalence of and factors leading to substance use issues among people identifying as LGBTQ2S and how to address this in a population specific service. You will also be familiar with best practices in serving people who have diverse gender identities and expressions. You will have knowledge of community resources, harm reduction principles, impacts of substance use and anti-oppressive frameworks. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment are essential. The ability to work effectively as a team member in a dynamic, interprofessional environment is required. You possess demonstrated knowledge and experience in assessment, treatment, stimulant use, concurrent disorders and current treatment protocols. In addition, you possess fundamental knowledge and application of the recovery model and other current Best Practices for the Acute Care Program clients. Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders and clients of diverse ethno-racial and ethno-cultural backgrounds is necessary. Computer skills, including word processing, electronic communication, and workload measures are essential. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Please Note: This full-time, permanent position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.
Salary Range: $36.04 - $48.57 per hour
