Social Worker MSW-Adult Eating Disorder Program
The Social Worker is responsible for providing professional social work services by conducting interviews, compiling case history, formulating psychosocial diagnosis, and participating in interdisciplinary treatment programs.
Illness often creates and intensifies personal, family, and practical stressors which may interfere with the patient’s and family’s ability to obtain the maximum benefits from medical care. These psychosocial difficulties need to be identified, assessed, and treated by the Social Worker as part of the total care of the patients and their families. Social Workers are actively involved in research, academic pursuit, and sharing of knowledge in the study of psychosocial aspects of illness and health care delivery.
