We are actively recruiting for a Rotating Equipment Specialist (Engineer/Technologist). Reporting to the Director, Facility Technical Services, this role is responsible for Coordination of Rotating Equipment Integrity Management Program (REIMP), act as a Subject Mater Expert supporting Operations and Maintenance teams, identify opportunities to enhance and improve rotating equipment monitoring and facilitate execution of Root Cause Failure Analysis.

Key duties include Technical solutions to Operations issues, ownership of REIMP, development of practical condition monitoring program and support Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Rotating Equipment subject matter expertise to client functional groups in Operations, Maintenance and Field Engineering
  • Participate in incident and failure investigations, risk analysis and RCFAs
  • Assist with the implementation of rotating equipment monitoring techniques
  • Evaluate current monitoring practices and support data collection
  • Analyze data and provide a baseline scorecard
  • Act as an escalation point for complex rotating equipment problems
  • Research and broker implementation of new technologies
  • Identify technical issues, risks, long-term/short-term plans, value-add opportunities to enhance and improve the monitoring programs
  • Promotes initiatives by communicating with key stakeholders to ensure that operational and economic impacts of technical recommendations are understood
  • Support the development of junior/intermediate engineers
  • Occasional travel to field facilities is required

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience in the natural gas industry
  • Knowledge of reciprocating and centrifugal rotating equipment
  • Experience with managing vibration monitoring and machinery lubrication analysis programs
  • Experience facilitating Root Cause Failure Analysis and investigation teams using a structured fault tree or cause mapping methodology such as Apollo RCA, DNV SCAT, Tap-Root or other to drive defect elimination program
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in the English language
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrated ability to create a positive environment of trust and inclusiveness
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills

Preferred:

  • Professional Engineering registration in AB and/or BC
  • Familiarity with steam driven and gas combustion turbomachinery
  • Certified Vibration Analyst Cat I or Cat II
  • Knowledge of Machinery Lubrication Analyst MLA I material
  • CMRP with Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals or MMP certification with PEMAC Asset Management or similar is an advantage
  • Understanding of RCM and FMEA principles for managing failure modes with the correct predictive or preventive maintenance technique.
