The Staffing Office at Misericordia Health Centre's current hours of operation are 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., 7 days a week. The shift schedule for this role will vary and be posted every two weeks. It is a full time position with days and evening shifts, including weekends. Day shifts typically start at 6:00 a.m. and Evening shifts typically start 1:30 p.m. Standard shifts are typically 7.5 hours however may be shorter due to operational needs.

Position Overview

Under the guidance of the Staffing Officer, maintains scheduling and relief in collaboration with the Patient/Resident Care Managers. Provides relief as required for the Staffing Officer.

Experience

  • Experience in a similar or directly related position, preferably in a Nursing related area.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer keyboard skills.
  • General knowledge of office procedures.
  • Experience in computerized scheduling preferred (ESP).
  • Previous experience in customer related service.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Successful completion of secondary education (Grade 12)
  • Good command of the English language.
  • It is recommended that, at minimum, staff possess the Family & Friends category of training.

Physical Requirements

  • Physical health to meet the requirements of the position.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
