As part of our expansion plans in Canada, we are looking for experienced, energetic and passionate STOCK ROOM SUPERVISOR for our Sherway location. This position reports directly to the Store Manager.


Who are we looking for?


As the Stock Room Supervisor, you must be a leader who can motive, inspire, and develop the store team. You will lead and manage the team in receiving and controlling merchandise. You will be responsible for the back of house operations – inventory control, safe storage and replenishment. You will undertake store replenishment according to company procedures, in order to ensure that the shop floor is always customer ready.

What does the job responsibilities?

The Stockroom Supervisor is responsible to lead and manage the team in receiving and controlling merchandise and its safe storage in the stockroom. The Stockroom Supervisor may open or close the store as well as provide coverage during peak times to cover breaks, meetings and other times as determined by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. The Stockroom Supervisor will play a key role in creating and maintaining a selling focus in the store. This individual will continue to support company and management initiatives/direction while ensuring adherence to policies and procedures as outlined by the organization.


Additional responsibilities include:

  • Setting the expectations of how to operate the stockroom with the team
  • Analyze and review stockroom indicators and performance to improve efficiency and store results.
  • Plan the required measures to reach stockroom deadlines and targets.
  • To use the different product lists for managing the stockroom
  • Responsible for controlling and monitoring stockroom materials - alarms, RFID equipment, adhesive tape, etc.
  • Reorganize stockroom space in an optimal manner according to the stage of the season and store needs
  • To be aware at all times of the newest products and what is on the sales floor
  • Provide product feedback to management team
  • Display expert product knowledge of product, company history, company policy and store/company strategies
  • To assign, delegate, guide and lead by example to complete business critical tasks
  • Consistently prioritize tasks and deadlines in the context of global business and commercial needs
  • Supporting, communicating, sharing best practices and information with the other Fox Home Stock Room Supervisors
  • Adhere to all company policy, procedures, and guidelines
  • Perform POS functions on designated shifts and participate in management functions
  • Perform opening and closing duties when needed.
  • Ensure exceptional level of customer service by supporting the sales team
  • To motivate the team in their day-to-day work to maximize productivity and results
  • Communicate actively with the team, according to the needs of the business
  • Detect the potential of each employee and ensure their development
  • Mentor the skills development of each team member according to their position
  • Coach the team on back of house and product flow expectations and correctly and actively manage potential conflict
  • Collaborate with the Visual Merchandiser and Store Manager in preparing all the material required to perform the store changes
  • Works with the Visual Merchandiser to provide leadership or assistance with floor sets, window changes and other merchandising and visual expectations
  • To have current knowledge of key performance indicators- Conversion (CVR), Units per Transaction (UPT), Average Dollar transaction (ADT) and how the stockroom team can impact them
  • Optimize resources and minimize expenses. e.g., optimization of talent (productivity)


What experience should you have?

  • Minimum of 1 year of stockroom management experience in a comparable retailer with an emphasis on home goods.
  • Ability to address complex issues and allocate time to execute multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Ability to analyze business indicators and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Experience in conducting inventory spot counts and complete store inventory.
  • Understanding of procedures for receiving, handling protocols and store transfers.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  • Product awareness and commercial orientation
  • Customer and image-oriented
  • Proficient in windows-based software such as Excel, Word and Outlook as well as RIDF technology.

What are the physical requirements?

  • Ability to work a flex schedule (which includes nights, weekend and holiday availability)
  • Ability to bend, lift, open and move product and fixtures up to 50 lbs., as needed
  • Ability to climb step stools and ladders
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods at a time
  • Possess manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to travel to other store locations (if needed) and attend district meetings
  • This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for long periods of time. May occasional involve stooping, kneeling, crouching
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers and management
