Position: Student Life and Engagement Manager (Food Services at SFU)

Location: Burnaby, BC (Simon Fraser University)

Salary: $65,000

Now, if you were to come on board as our Student Life and Engagement Manager (Food Services), we’d ask you to do the following for us:

  • Oversee the execution of all marketing programs for multiple accounts within a region in order to grow like for like sales while maintaining the integrity of internal and external brand standards
  • Execute annual marketing plan for each unit with the Unit Manager, utilizing various mediums such as face to face meetings, e-mail, regional meetings, conference calls, and presentations, so as to gain compliance for all marketing initiatives
  • Ensure merchandising best practices are being followed and consumer flow makes sense to drive execution of retail excellence in each and every account
  • Coach Operations, both Managers and Associates, on how to execute the marketing plans, initiatives, policies, expectations and processes
  • Assess individual unit needs and develop appropriate materials and presentations; act as a single point of contact for all marketing needs
  • Review regions’ performance monthly by unit with the District Manager and Marketing Director and implement appropriate action plans to address underperforming units
  • Ensure compliance to POS and marketing programs and promotions

  • Minimum of 3 years in Retail Food Services Marketing
  • Franchise Marketing Quick Service Restaurant is preferred.
  • Restaurant, retail, QSR and/or field experience would be a strong asset
  • University or college degree in Marketing or General Business
  • Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license
  • Creative, strategic thinker with demonstrated success in a marketing role
  • Strong retail, sales and customer focus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills
  • Proficient computer skills including PowerPoint, Excel, strong social media, media trends and innovation
  • Detail oriented and proven organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work equally well independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Helpful, positive, can-do attitude
