The Role: Employment Services Program Support (8 Week Contract)
Trellis Society is seeking Employment Services Program Supports to join our team this summer through the Canada Summer Jobs program. This 8-week contract position will involve working 35 hours per week and providing quality summer work experiences for young people aged 15 to 30 years.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Always demonstrate leadership and safe work practices (proper PPE, techniques etc.)
  • Support the Employment Services team in hiring and onboarding of youth & adult supervisors
  • Completion of basic administration tasks and data tracking
  • Demonstrate proper usage of tools and cleaning products and guide youth on proper and safe usage.
  • Provide mentorship on appropriate workplace behavior for youth and basic employment skills
  • Coordinate tasks for youth
  • Communicate positively and professionally to youth and staff
  • Demonstrate initiative and strong teamwork skills
  • Coordinate special projects outside of regular duties as needed
What You’ll Bring to The Role:
  • Social Services education with recent and relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn database systems
  • Concise and clear communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills
  • Up-to-date Standard First Aid and Level C CPR training
  • Ability to provide a Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search and Child Intervention Record Check
  • Experience or in-depth understanding of Harm reduction and Trauma Informed Practice is considered an asset
Reporting Relationship:
This position directly reports to a Trellis Program Manager
