Apex is currently seeking Junior Surveyors to join our outstanding team. Geomatics and Civil Engineering Students looking to gain experience throughout the upcoming summer are encouraged to apply. Current Opportunities:

Kitimat, British Columbia

  • Fly-In/Fly-out (FIFO), camp-based positions. Excellent camp-life and accommodations.
  • Charter flights out of major hubs in Western Canada. Travel allowance for workers travelling from outside of these hubs will be considered.

Capabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate with team members.
  • Possess a safety-conscious mindset and adherence to the Apex safety program.
  • Assist in a variety of survey-related tasks such as the setup of conventional survey and GPS systems, survey data collection, and other duties as directed by the Surveyor.
  • Possess a general understanding for interpretation of construction drawings.
  • Complete daily field notes, sketches and reports according to job specifications and Apex operational procedures.
  • Inspect, operate and maintain survey equipment, tools and vehicles.
  • Have a strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction.
  • Eagerness and willingness to learn new technical skills.
  • Adherence with quality assurance procedures and quality control practices.
  • As a representative of Apex Geomatics, you are to conduct yourself with a professional, cordial attitude with clients.
  • Must enjoy working outside.
  • This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to pre-assess drug and alcohol screening.

Education and Experience:

  • A recent graduate or currently enrolled in a Geomatics or Civil Engineering program.
  • Previous field experience not required; however industrial construction experience would be considered an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD standards and familiarity with Trimble survey equipment would be advantageous.
  • Valid Driver's License and a clean Driver’s Abstract.
  • All pertinent safety training certifications will be provided.
