Skillsearch is looking for a passionate UI/UX Director who enjoys working on an agile, vibrant team that brings high-quality VR projects to life. This full-time UI/UX role is based in Vancouver, Canada, with remote working options and comes with a generous salary and benefits package.

As a talented UI/UX Director, you will collaborate with a team of designers, engineers and UX/UI specialists to develop efficient UI systems and user-friendly experiences. You will also work with the Creative Director and Lead Game Designer to define the user experience in the game and prototype spaces and interactions in VR/AR.

To give you an idea of how this UI/UX job would look and feel, here are some things you could expect to do:

• Test for scale and usability while working with artists to concept and model the User Interface (UI)
• Direct, manage and mentor a team of UI/UX designers and developers
• Own the pipeline for UX and UI and work closely with the Creative Director
• Assist in coordinating usability testing and create action plans for Users Experience (UX) improvements

To apply for this UI/UX Designer role, you will need 4+ years of industry experience as a UI/UX Designer in a principal or managerial capacity, with a minimum of one game shipped or worked on in your portfolio. You will also require the following:

• Proven experience managing people
• A portfolio to show a variety of UI styles and projects
• Experience working with VR/AR
• Expertise in 2D/3D illustration and design for game UI, web or mobile app development

• Familiarity with Social VR and 3D creation and prototyping tools and apps such as Microsoft Maquette, Recroom, Gravity Sketch, etc.
