Are you committed to protecting your community? Blackbird Security is seeking to hire Uniform Security Guards in Sarnia, Ontario for a variety of retail sites.
What you will do
- Establish a strong security presence to deter crime and theft
- Identify, monitor and approach subjects who may have unpaid merchandise
- Document theft and other security violations
- Patrol the premises, provide access control and respond to emergency situations in an appropriate and timely manner
- Perform safety and security duties with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity
- Complete incident reports and required documentation for all security incidents
- Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly
- Provide excellent customer service to our clients, customers and patrons
- Respond to emergencies and escalate to law enforcement agencies as required
The Ideal Candidate
- A Valid Security License
- A keen interest in asset protection
- Willing to stand/ patrol for the duration of the shift
- Previous security experience in a retail environment is an asset
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to attend meetings and improve skills’
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Must be willing and comfortable to stop theft
- Experience with arrests and detaining shoplifters is an asset
- Use of Force Certification is an asset

Salary: $16.00-$18.00 per hour

- Sarnia, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Security: 1 year (preferred)
- Loss prevention: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Security Guard Licence (required)
- Use of Force Certification (preferred)
