Valley Regional Hospital is seeking a urologist to join the current team of four. The urologist position is a fee-for-service 0.6 FTE within the allotted 3 FTE urology positions in Western Zone. The team will share call and all facility resources equally with the existing group. On-call requirements will be 1:5 for each urologist. Subspecialty urology training is not a requirement but could be an opportunity to provide more advanced care in some areas of urology, thus decreasing burden on Central Zone referrals. The group provides extensive satellite services throughout Western Zone. Opportunity to participate in the education of medical learners, training family medicine residents, LIC students and residents.
Valley Regional Hospital (VRH) opened its doors to patients in 1992. The hospital serves the people of Kings and Annapolis Counties and provides specialty services as a referral centre for the Annapolis Valley and other areas of Western Nova Scotia. Located in Kentville, VRH is a 137 inpatient bed facility that provides inpatient, outpatient, and satellite care to approximately 80,000 residents.
