  • Helping P&U clients conceive of and drive meaningful strategic vision and transformation across their organizations, leading with industry expertise and the full breadth of strategy development capabilities and approaches
  • Lead large, complex, programs that require specialized discipline and expertise


We currently are seeking Managers and Senior Managers in our Business Consulting, Power & Utilities practice in Toronto, specializing in Strategy Transformation. Our team is focused on helping clients develop strategic plans leveraging a variety of methodologies including scenario planning to grow and sustain their businesses.


Our teams help clients by assessing their current strategic direction, bringing in depth research and environmental scans and jurisdictional examples to collaborate and work with their clients to develop fit for purpose support across the full spectrum of the business including strategic direction, customer and advisor engagement, operations, technology enablement, people and organization change, and program management and execution.


Your key responsibilities

  • As a Manager and Senior Manager an important part of your role will be to actively establish, maintain, and strengthen internal and external relationships.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of complex strategy concepts.
  • Deliver quality services. Value and model excellent client service by establishing goals and implementation plans to achieve high quality deliverables and within expected timeframes. Monitor progress, manage risk and confirm key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management. Focus on deliverables and client business priorities. Manage expectations of service. Understand the client's industry and recognize key performance drivers and business trends.
  • Develop people (Manager). Provide constructive on-the-job feedback/training. Foster an innovative and team-oriented work environment.
  • Demonstrate high levels of technical and professional knowledge and quickly assimilate new knowledge. Keep up to date with current developments and trends in consulting services capabilities and industry knowledge.
  • Generate new business opportunities. Understand Ernst & Young and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to serve clients. Develop long-term client relationships and networks. Develop relationships with other Ernst & Young team members across all practices to serve client needs.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or relevant field
  • Preferably a post graduate degree or relevant professional designation (MBA or MSC are preferred)
  • At the Manager level, a minimum of 5+ years of relevant consulting experience
  • At the Senior Manager level, a minimum of 10+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience
  • Experience in providing growth strategy; strategy, value creating strategy, the strategic planning process; scenario planning; operating model design; strategic investment analysis; and options assessment
  • Not require, but additional experience leading complex projects, long term strategic planning, scenario planning, and transformation would be nice to have
  • Strategy consulting experience or Utility experience with a depth of understanding in the P&U sector
