WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR

SUMMARY

The Warehouse Supervisor works well with others and oversees and coordinates the daily warehousing activities. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for purchasing suitable materials and ensuring on time delivery. As the company representative with internal clients, suppliers, drivers and transport companies, the Warehouse Supervisor uses superior communication and time management skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES

Supervises the warehouse activities including organizing and maintaining inventory and storage area, logistics, measuring the effectiveness of warehouse employees, shipping/receiving and customer service.

  • Supervises the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency
  • Prepares purchase orders and receives products ensuring shipments’ and inventory transactions’ accuracy
  • Monitors usage by cost centres
  • Reports all accidents / incidents / hazardous conditions in a timely manner
  • Handles the training, communicates job expectations, supervises and evaluates the performance for the Warehouse Associate
  • Produces reports and statistics (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report)
  • Solves day-to-day operational issues
  • Provides coverage for the Warehouse Associate during absences
  • Communicates with internal and external customer inquiries

CONTINUING EDUCATION

Annual in-house continuous training in Transportation of Dangerous Goods, handling of radioactive materials, WHMIS, AODA, and IT Security Awareness.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience at a supervisory level in the health care field
  • Background in purchasing and inventory management required
  • Familiar with WHMIS, TDG, Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and fire regulations

SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Manages time pressures well and works simultaneously on multiple projects
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Hands-on attitude
