Our Rail Fleet Engineering & Asset Management Office (RFEAM) is looking for an Engineering Lead, Data & MIS for the GO, UP, LRT, and Subway programs. What will I be doing?
- Provides subject matter expertise and oversight on data management and governance processes for all internal and external datasets for RFEAM , including asset management data, external operational data from the operator and the maintainers.
- Reviews technical components of the computerized information systems for compatibility with internal (corporate) and external (operator and maintainer) requirements.
- Implements and oversees data governance processes and ensures the secure collection, storage, and reporting of all data.
- Liaises and negotiates with internal and external stakeholders to collect, maintain, and report data.
- Supports the design and implementation of visualization tools, including but not limited to Power BI, and provides all necessary support in setting up data architecture to automate reporting.
- Conducts data validation checks and develops strategies to improve data quality.
- Assists in the development of performance management metrics and calculations based on contractual requirements.
- Trains staff on software applications, database management, systems administration, and documentation.
- Analyzes and evaluates current systems and processes (document control, configuration management, etc.) and implements solutions for continuous improvement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
- Completion of a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or a related discipline, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the development and support of complex data management and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of principles and practices to design, implement, and maintain databases and reporting tools.
- Experience with data architecture and extract, transfer, load (ETL) tools to build data infrastructure using cloud services (Azure, Python, SQL, etc.).
Experience using visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) to build predictive forecasting dashboards.
