YYT Foodservices - Financial Controller

Our client YYT Foodservices including Yellow Belly Brewery & O’Reilly’s Irish Bar Inc. is looking for a Financial Controller to join their team!

We are looking for a teammate to join our professional, detail oriented team to help deliver to our customers. energetic and detail oriented individual to assume the role of Controller with YYT Foodservices including Yellow Belly Brewery & O’Reilly’s Irish Bar Inc.

What You Will be Doing

Reporting to the Owners, the Financial Controller contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively overseeing all financial tasks including management, accounting, budgeting, transactions, reporting and compliance. The Financial Controller will ensure that financial management is executed with accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness.

This position has several direct reports and is the direct manager and supervisor for these individual contributors. In addition to the above, the Financial Controller wll be responsible for:

• Maintaining a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
• Managing outsourced functions
• Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner and accounts receivable are collected promptly, process payroll in a timely manner, complete monthly bank reconciliations
• Issue timely and complete financial statements, coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report, provide financial analysis as needed
• Comply with municipal, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, including SOCAN & WHSCC

What You Will Bring

• Undergraduate business degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Professional accredited accounting designation (CPA – CA/CGA/CMA)

• 5+ years’ experience in accounting or financial management
• Experience in financial management in a restaurant setting would be considered an asset, but not required
• Great problem solver with the ability to find solutions to complex problems
• Experience with softwares such as Sage, Profile, Cantax, and Caseware would be considered an asset, but not required
• The ability to work independently, strong organizational abilities and a demonstrated attention to detail are essential

This is a full time permanent position with an annual salary of $87,500 in addition to the below benefits of working with the YYT Foodservices team.

• 100% company paid Health and Dental Plan
• Paid time off: 3 weeks (15 days) vacation, 5 flex/sick days annually, statutory / public holidays

• Monthly cell phone allowance of $75
• Company paid parking
